If you put “Ramoji Film City Parking” in your map, you will enter from the main gate. There is a huge parking area on the right side of the main entryway. And the ticket counters on the left side. From besides the ticket counters, there is an entry inside the Ramoji Film City Studio and Park.

Entry to Ramoji Film City Studio
If you have your tickets booked online, you can directly proceed to the entry gates to Ramoji Film City. But, if not, then you will first need to get your tickets from the ticket counter.
Once at the entry gate, you will probably find queues, the length of which depends on the time of day you reach here. Try to come as early and close to the opening time as possible. This way, you will be able to avoid most of the crowd at the queue. We reached a little late. Thus, it took us almost 20-30 mins in the queue.
While admitting you inside, your ticket will be scanned. And baggage check also happens here. Outside food is strictly not allowed. If there’s any restricted item in your baggage, you can rent a locker near the entry gates. And put your stuff here.
PS: If you are staying inside the campus overnight, then you can carry your luggage directly to the hotel. And leave it at your hotel. While you enjoy your tour of Ramoji Film City. This way, you need not go through the hassle of baggage check and entry queue.

Ramoji Film City is divided into several zones, each designed for different aspects of filmmaking and entertainment. Some of the key zones include:
Sci-fi zone
It is an imaginative and futuristic area designed to captivate visitors with its innovative attractions and experiences inspired by science fiction. offers a range of thrilling rides that take visitors on exhilarating journeys through space and time. These rides often incorporate advanced technology and special effects to create immersive experiences that feel like stepping into a sci-fi movie.
There is a movie magic, a space ride, and an action-adventure set where they show how exactly action scenes are filmed. And sound effects are produced.
Visitors can also engage in interactive exhibits and simulations that allow them to explore futuristic concepts, such as virtual reality experiences, augmented reality games, and hands-on science demonstrations.
Entertainment Zone
This zone offers various attractions, including live shows, theme parks, and recreational activities for visitors. It often hosts events and performances. After visiting Sci-Fi Zone, next you can come to entertainment zone. Here, there are several rides for kids and adults and few activity centres. Also, this is like the central part from where buses depart to rest of the zones. You can board a bus from here. And start your journey to other zones.
Film Production Zone
This area includes various film sets, sound stages, and production facilities where movies are shot. It features replicas of famous landmarks and diverse settings. In this zone, we saw the following in this sequence –
European themed Fountain
Like the one we saw on our trip to Rome.
Themed streets
Streets like a street depicting an Indian village setup. With front elevation of village houses.
Gardens
We first encountered a beautifully landscaped garden that features intricate fountains, lush greenery, and stunning floral displays, making it a popular location for romantic scenes and song sequences. The guide told us that the flowers in this garden are changed overnight as per the filming requirement!!
And then there is a garden which is a replica of Brindavan Garden Mysore.
The set of a jail
The Palace set
This grand set mimics the opulence of royal palaces and is often used for historical dramas and period films. The intricate architecture and lavish interiors provide a stunning backdrop for filmmakers.
A Train station
The film city includes a train station set that can be used for various narratives, from romantic encounters to thrilling chase scenes. It features a platform, tracks, and a vintage train, adding authenticity to the scenes shot here.
Complete set of the famous Bahubali movie
Alongside this set also lies a Bahubali Restaurant. When we visited here, it had a special offer running on biryani – if you are able to finish their jumbo combo platter, your meal would be on the house.
European Street
A street representing European streets, again, with front elevation of houses.
The Fantasy Set
Located inside European Street, this area is designed for fantasy films, featuring whimsical structures, vibrant colors, and imaginative landscapes. It’s a favorite for filmmakers looking to create magical and otherworldly scenes. For example, we saw here how movies like Avatar are filmed using simulation techniques. And we also got inserted in a scene wherein our background was from USA.
The Hospital and Airport
A building, which has featured in several movies. It has the representation of a hospital from one side. And an airport from the other side. It also has an airplane on the sets !! Which you can climb and sit into. Â This set is frequently used for shooting scenes that require an airport backdrop, complete with planes and baggage handling areas.
Adventure and rides Zone
In between the above zones there is an adventure and rides zone. We skipped this zone. Since, we have done similar rides in other places. Like a zip-lining on our trip to Meghalaya. So, we mostly wanted to keep our experience to the unique offerings of Ramoji Film City that we have not experienced elsewhere.
This zone provides rides and activities like paintball, zorbing, ATV rides, archery, bungee jumping, and ziplining. And then there is a small adventure park that also provides roller coaster rides, both dry and wet like Wonderla, Bangalore.
Parks & Gardens Zone
After visiting the above, we proceeded to the parks and gardens zone. First, there is a Mughal themed garden here. On top of which is a stage for dance performances. Here, we watched live performance of Rajasthani folk dance. This reminded me of my several visits of Rajasthan and particularly the artist performances that we saw in Shilpgram Udaipur during our 4 days trip to Udaipur Rajasthan.
From here, you get a bird’s eye view of the whole of Ramoji Film City.
Also, there is a Rajasthani Themed restaurant here. Where we had our late lunch – chats, puri and chole etc. Food was good.
After finishing lunch, we proceeded to the Japanese Garden. Made on Japanese theme, this garden is very well manicured. With a water stream running in the middle. Where you can walk in the stream or just relax by it dipping your leg in the water. There are several small bridges across the stream and Japanese style gazebos which are perfect for clicking those memorable pictures.
Eco Park Zone
Last but not the least, we arrived at the eco zone. This zone features several interesting places like –
A butterfly park in which there are hundreds of species of butterflies.
Birds park that features different varieties of birds – both migrant and local. And an artificial waterfall.
Some reptiles and other animals like how we had seen in the Shimoga Zoo & Safari Park on our recent trip to Shimoga. The area is better maintained than most of the regular zoos that I have been to in India. It reminded me of Singapore Zoo and Mysore Zoo – two of the best zoo we have visited with our kids.
Back to the entertainment zone
From the eco park zone, we started back to the main zone – entertainment zone. It was around 5:00pm in the evening when we arrived here. The rides had opened by this time. And everything was in full swing – snack carts, kids rides, elders rides. The atmosphere was all charged up. And it was nothing short of a fare!! After staying here for sometime, we boarded a bus to our hotel. Also, from here, you can get bus to the main gate of the park.
PS: Each of the zone has one or more restaurants, restrooms and drinking water facilities.
You can have lunch or refreshments as per your convenience. We had light snacks from a snack shop while visiting the first mythological set. And then finally, we had a late lunch around 4:00pm at the Rajasthani Themed Restaurant. Keeping yourself hydrated is especially important, when its hot outside. So always keep a bottle of water with you. And you can drink packaged coconut water, lime water and fruit juices from time to time.
How to communicate from one zone to another at Ramoji Film City
Ramoji Film City has eco-friendly open buses that commute between different zones. The bus will drop you in front of specific attractions. And after exploring the attractions, you can again come back to the same point. Where you can board the next bus to the next point. The frequency of these buses is very good. So that you almost never have to wait for one. So, hopping from point to point is very convenient and stress free.
PS: the first bus is also provided with a guide who will brief you about the whole theme park and also help you recognise various movie sets, gardens etc. that you pass through.

What to carry to Ramoji Film City Hyderabad
Carry a change of cloths with you if you plan to take the wet rides.
Wear comfortable full sleeve cloths and walking shoes. As, it will help you prevent tanning and sunburns. Apply plenty of sunscreen lotion and don’t forget your sunglasses. Also wear a hat that will protect you from the sun. And carry an umbrella as well.

You can carry light snacks – both packaged or homemade, with you. As well as fruits. But cooked food is not allowed. We carried some cooked rice and dal with us for our younger kid. As she is a picky eater. But, inspite of requesting, they didn’t allow us to carry that small amount of food for the kid. Perhaps, baby food would be allowed for younger babies.
If you are traveling with babies and toddlers, you can either bring your own stroller. Or, rent one from near the entry.
Also, you can carry your general electronic gadgets like cameras, mobile phones, chargers etc.

Many of these hotels serve as accommodation to movie stars when they are shooting over several days at Ramoji Film City. And these hotels are open to general public as well. So, you can book a room. Advantages of staying overnight at Ramoji Film City
- You can stay longer inside the park since you don’t have to travel far at the end of the day.
- It saves commute time at the end of the day. And also, after getting tired exploring the Ramoji Film City, you can quickly check-in into your hotel and relax.

Hotel Tara and Hotel Sitara are two of the most famous hotels inside Ramoji Film City Campus. There are other hotels also present. Other hotels include Greens Inn, Shantiniketan Hotel, Sahara Hotel and Vasundhara villa.
We stayed at Hotel Tara in Ramoji Film City. The rooms were small but neat and clean. There is a good on premises restaurant also. And the staff was particularly very courteous. They even packed us our breakfast as we were leaving very early the next day.
Overall, our experience visiting Ramoji Film City Hyderabad
We had a very good time at Ramoji Film City all in all. We were able to cover most of the part of the park except the adventure zone and wet rides. And had a cozy stay end of the day at hotel Tara. I particularly liked the movie making sessions that we saw. Which helps educate the kids and ignorants on how exactly the movies are made. It helps them differentiate between the real life and movies. And also inculcates the understanding that movies are just for entertainment. So, not everything shown in movies is real. In fact, there are a lot of tricks applied to get the special effects, stunts and other such scenes in the movies. Which really helps educate people.
What would I do differently when visiting here again
A few things that I would have done differently, had I known more about Ramoji Film City Hyderabad, include –
- Either start early to Ramoji Film City Hyderabad. And reach here by 9:00am to make the most of your time. Or, split your trip over two days. To cover everything without rushing through.
- First reach the hotel and dump the luggage there. And take admissions to the main theme park via your hotel. Which saves you a lot of time in waiting queues. And also enhances your overall experience. You can talk with your hotel the day before to know the exact time the buses come and pick guests from the hotel.
- Carry a change of cloths for wet rides.
- Use fast pass. The concept of fast pass is very similar to Disneylands and Universal Studios. Wherein you get to stand in a shorter queue and faster entry to rides and sets if you have a fast pass with you.
Conclusion
Overall it was a great experience. As we speak, the Ramoji Film City is still expanding. We could see parts which are still under construction. So, hopefully we will again visit here sometimes in future. Wherein we can also cover the places and rides that we couldn’t this time. However, it’s definitely worth visiting Ramoji Film City for one day if you are planning a trip to Hyderabad.
