On our recent 14 days Thailand trip Itinerary, we spent 5 days in Bangkok, followed by 2 days in Sukhothai and 5 days in Chiang Mai. We traveled with our parents . And our travel group also included our kid and even a 10 months old infant. Thus our plan was to stay in a hotel in the center of Bangkok city. Also, during these 5 days we planned to not only explore places in Bangkok in a day. But do day trip from Bangkok to Pattaya & another day trip from Bangkok to Ayutthaya. So, basically below are the criteria that were in my mind while looking for where to stay in Bangkok with family on this trip.
- It should be one of the best hotels in Bangkok for Indian families
- Also, it should qualify as one of the best place to stay in Bangkok with toddler
- It should be near a few grocery stores like 7 eleven so that we can buy daily essentials and packaged water
- The hotel should also be located in one of the best places for shopping in Bangkok so that we don’t have to venture too far, particularly for night markets of Bangkok etc.
- Hospitals, Metro and other such facilities should be nearby.
- The place should have an equipped kitchen so that we can cook the infant’s meals at least
- A good breakfast spread for my vegetarian family.
With the above criteria in mind, I searched for a hotel or serviced apartment in Bangkok. And finally stumbled upon Hotel Evergreen Place Siam (Link to book: Agoda, booking.com). To my delight, while the hotel had an amazing user reviews – which mostly pointed to polite and very helping staff. It also fulfilled most of the above criteria that I was looking for and had much more facilities, which were not so important to me but good to have. And maybe important for someone else.

Hotel Evergreen Place Siam by UHG
We arrived in Hotel Evergreen Place Siam on our first day in Bangkok, around 6:30pm in the evening. The reception was impressive. It has a lobby with ample seating for guests, a reception desk which is catered 24 hours. Also, a separate tour desk to help guests with day trips, tours in Bangkok or simply with booking any shows, transport or any other tour related needs. Check-in process was fast. And to our delight, we were upgraded without any extra charge to a family suite. Soon, we arrived at our suite.
Our Family Suite at Hotel Evergreen Place Siam
Our family suite was very well appointed. To start with there is a big living cum dining area that opened in a balcony. And at the other end, near entrance, is a kitchen. The balcony overlooked the Hotel’s swimming pool.
To our delight, the kitchen is well equipped with utensils, a microwave, an electric kettle, a toaster, a refrigerator, an induction hob and sink. It also has a dish drainer basket along with dishwashing liquid and scrub. So, all set to cook family meals in case you are interested.
The family suite leads to two bedrooms. While the main bedroom is bigger with a king size bed, and a big attached bathroom with bathtub. At the same time, the other bedroom has a queen size bed, and no attached bathroom. Instead there is a common bathroom from the living area. Both the rooms have good amount of cupboards and separate televisions as well. And the suite also had an ironing stand along with an iron.
The staff & management at Hotel Evergreen Place Siam
Hotel staff are definitely friendly. We felt totally at home while here. Things were taken care of without asking at all. Everyone will greet you with a smile. But a few things that we noticed, and found to be exceptional compared to other similar places that we have stayed in the past:
- The staff washed off the dirty dishes as well when they came to clean and makeup the room.
- Everyone always greeted you with a smile, whether at the reception, the tour desk, at the breakfast or even in the lift or in the lobby.
- We washed some of our kids cloths and hung them on the balcony railing for drying. The next day, we saw the staff had provided us with a cloth drying stand!!
- The lady at the tour desk was also very helping and generous. The rates of the day trips were very reasonable.
The breakfast at Hotel Evergreen Place Siam
I am really glad that while the hotel provides for kitchen facility in its rooms and suites, it also has a very lavish breakfast spread. And an in house restaurant also. Thus, it combines the best of both worlds – serviced apartments or airbnbs as well as hotels. The best part was that there were ample vegetarian food options for us in the breakfast spread. Which included:
- Fresh cut fruits like pineapple, papaya, watermelon, muskmelon
- 4 kind of fruit juices
- A whole fruit like banana or orange
- 3-4 types of breads, croissants and cupcakes
- Oats, cornflakes, chocos etc. kind of breakfast cereals with milk
- tea and coffee
- salad ingredients to make your own salad – lettuce, bell peppers, olives, cherry tomatoes, onion rings, crackers, and varied salad dressings
- Boiled or stir fried veggies
- Potato Fries or wedges
- Cheese slices, curd and milk to go with different items
- Fried or steamed rice
- boiled eggs & live counter for omelettes.
Apart from this, of course, the non vegetarian food options were abundant as well.
Other facilities at Hotel Evergreen Place Siam
The other facilities at the hotel included:
- Doctor on call
- Swimming pool
- Conference rooms
- Gym
- Laundry
- Help with getting a cab on the fly
Locality wise where to stay in Bangkok with family
Given the above, I will rate Hotel Evergreen Place as the best family hotel in Siam, Bangkok. But, when you travel with family and look for where to stay in Bangkok with family, then the locality matters as much as the hotel itself. Fortunately, this Siam locality was perfect to stay.
Food & Shopping
From our hotel, MBK Mall was located at just 400 meters walking distance. And there were a few decent vegetarian food options in the food court of MBK Mall – both Indian and Thai. And some pizza and desert places. So, we mostly had our dinner here. In the lower ground floor of the mall, there is a grocery place also from where we often bought fruits, yogurt, bread, cheese and other daily needs. This store also has an option to prepare your own custom salad & pay by it’s weight – a good option for vegetarians.
Apart from the MBK Mall, The area around the hotel is dotted with a number of restaurants.
Just besides the hotel , there is a 7 eleven store also. From here we bought bottled drinking water on most of the days of our stay. And sometimes even other bottled drinks, milk and a few other items. The good thing is that these 7 eleven stores all over Thailand are open 23 hours out of 24 hours. So, even if you need something in the difficult hours, you will be good if there is one nearby.
The mall is also abundant with shopping options of all ranges. And there are stalls setup in the lowest floor of the mall for street shopping feel (and prices are also like street shops!)
Commute
Just outside the hotel, from the main road, one can easily get metered taxis, uber or even tuk tuk. So, commuting is hassle free. And you can book transport for day trips from the hotel travel desk. Or, even guided tours if you want to. In fact, Some banks, atms and even Jim Thompson House and Museum is at walkable distance.
So, overall, I am really glad I decided to stay in Siam locality. And that also in Hotel Evergreen place Siam when I was researching for us to stay in Bangkok with family! Hope I have helped you with your own dilemma of where to stay in Bangkok with family, with this post. Whether you are looking for where to stay in Bangkok with baby or the best area to stay in Bangkok for sightseeing, the Siam area topped all criteria.

Thanks Anna. Hope it helps families like mine figure out where to stay in Bangkok
It seems like you had a great time! The hotel’s proximity to everything sounds like its perfect if travelling with kids.
Definitely Ella. With kids you need everything to be at a stones throw away. And this hotel definitely had everything at just a couple of steps from it’s premises
I have yet to travel to Thailand even though I think about it every year! This hotel seems to be like a convenient place to stay while in Bangkok. So, will definitely consider it when I travel in the country.
Thanks Mayi for liking the suggestion of this hotel!
This looks like a great place to stay. Being located next to that huge mall is definitely a bonus too. Having access to transportation and the good location is always a bonus when looking for accommodation options.
Totally agree Jenn!
