Why Biera Mar Beach Resort Goa
We wanted an accommodation with the following criteria :
- An in-campus parking
- Spacious rooms and preferably villa style which would help us maintain social distancing from other guests
- Proximity to the beach
- Power backup so that we could work uninterrupted
- Strong wifi so that we could take calls and our kid could attend school all at the same time
Finally, after days of searching through several accommodation we finally found Biera Mar Beach Resort , Goa which satisfied all the above criteria. Moreover, it was reasonably priced. And also had decent food menu. Along with buffet breakfast included in our package. And to our delight, we found a few other ways in which this property far exceeded our expectations. Location of Biera Mar Beach Resort Goa
Biera Mar Beach Resort is located right on the Benaulim Beach. While Colva beach is the most commercial beach of South-Central Goa, just 2km from it, Benaulim beach provides a very peaceful ambiance. The resort is located just 200-300m off the main road that leads right to the beach. And it has a private back gate that leads right at the Benaulim Beach. For us, it meant our parents and kids could conveniently go to the beach anytime they wanted , without necessarily needing us to accompany them. On the main street, there are several restaurants, cafes and some supermarkets as well. During our stay at Biera Mar Beach Resort, we often stepped out for lunch and dinner to try out the numerous food outlets outside and nearby. And we also frequented the nearby department stores and supermarkets for daily essentials like mineral water, packaged snacks, groceries to cook for our younger kid, general medicines and diapers etc.
Most of the time we used our car when we stepped out. But one can also conveniently walk to nearby facilities. However, we won’t recommend walking late in the evening. Given these streets (And several others in Goa) are frequented by stray dogs at night. So, take a drop off in a cab or an auto-rickshaw in case you don’t have your own vehicles.
Accommodation at Biera Mar Beach Resort Goa
There are around 32 single room villas at Biera Mar Beach Resort. Each with its own attached bathroom and a small verandah. The villas are spaced apart with big lawns, and landscaped gardens with cobbled pathways between them. While it is pleasing to the eyes. At the same time this setup provides the much needed social distancing between guests. With each guest enjoying their own ample space. And no need to take lifts or stairs to reach your room.
The rooms are equipped with double or king beds, work desk, hot water kettle, hot running water in the bathroom, ample cupboard space to store all your belongings neatly and all other basic amenities. The rooms are air conditioned and very comfortable.
Food at Biera Mar Beach Resort Goa
There is a full day dine in restaurant at Biera Mar Beach Resort Goa. Which means, apart from the 3 main meals of the day, one can always get snacks and bytes anytime of the day. The breakfast was included in our package. And the breakfast menu is pretty decent. With seasonal fruits, juices, some south Indian and some north Indian delicacies. Eggs to order, bread, tea and coffee. And few other menu options. We did have several lunches and dinners also at the resort. While mostly we ordered lunch in our room because we were working from the room, for dinner we went to the restaurant. And on couple of occasions we had candle light dinners arranged in the lawn right in front of the restaurant, besides the swimming pool.
Staff at Biera Mar Beach Resort Goa
The hospitality in Goa is always top notch. And that is definitely a reason that attracts herds of tourists here month on month. And Biera Mar Beach Resort Goa was no exception. We had a warm welcome from the manager. And the staff soon helped us settle in our rooms. Within a few days we got very comfortable with the restaurant staff as well as the cleaning staff. There were limited staff at the campus. And soon we knew everyone by name. And they knew us back. Warm greetings, immediate help in case of slightest inconvenience and all needs taken care of – became like the new normal routine for us with the staff at Biera Mar Beach Resort. In short, they never left any stone unturned to make us feel welcomed.

Other facilities at Biera Mar Beach Resort Goa
There were several other facilities available at Biera Mar Beach Resort Goa. Although we couldn’t avail of all of them due to covid restriction. Some of these included :
Direct Access to the Benaulim Beach
Although I am not sure if it can be counted as a facility. But definitely it was one criteria we were looking for in the accommodation we stayed at. There is a back gate that immediately leads to the beach. Without the guests having to step at any road at all. And once on the beach, you have a plethora of activities to do, dining options to chose from or just relax. It saved us a lot of time. As, when we wrapped up our work in the evening, within 10 mins we hit the beach. The kids loved making their sand castles. And we enjoyed walking on the beach. Some days, we went for some activities. While on others, we set for beach side dining.
Right before returning back, the kids played in water for sometime. And as we entered back the resort, there is a shower area near the back gate. Which proved very convenient. We cleaned the kids and ourselves before going to the rooms. It ensured we didn’t carry sand all over to our rooms.
In Campus Parking
There is a parking space of 6-7 vehicles right near the main gate. It’s an open parking. So, it is advised to carry a cover for your vehicle. Otherwise it might tend to get too hot in the Goan sun! And yes, the parking gets filled on first come first serve basis. Most of the other airbnbs and hotels in Goa that we enquired with didnt have an in campus parking. The vehicle was to be parked on the road besides the campus. Which we were not very comfortable with . Given we were planning for long stay. So, the parking fcility at Biera Mar Beach Resort was a real boon for us.
Swimming pool & Kid’s Play area
There are 2 swimming pools in the campus of Biera Mar Beach Resort. One of them was dry and the other also non operational due to covid restrictions when we visited. But both of them are of decent size. And then there was an on campus kids play area as well.
There are many other general facilities in the resort. Like cab on call, doctor on call, laundry etc.
Overall it is an excellent family friendly and kids friendly resort. We highly recommend booking it if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing accommodation in South Goa.

This resort is not near to any of the Goa shopping places or flea markets of Goa, neither is it as “happening” as a beach hut further down like the beach huts you find in Palolem. And it doesn’t have as many and as upscale wine and dine options like you find in North Goa. But, it has tranquility to offer within a serene environment. If long walks on a pristine beach, beachside candle light dinners, a relaxing vacation with family and kids or a cozy stay at economical price with all amenities is what you are looking for, then this will be a perfect stay option for you. Just like it was for us.
