#Day 1: Arrival in Da Nang, half day trip to Hoi An
After exploring South Vietnam for the first 6 days of our Vietnam trip, we arrived in Da Nang from Nha Trang by taking an internal flight. Read :
2 beautiful days spent in Nha Trang

After arrival at Da Nang, we started our 4 days Da Nang itinerary by checking in into our sea facing apartment right opposite the most famous beach of Da Nang – the My Khe Beach. And after relaxing for a while, we started our Da Nang trip by a half day trip to Hoi An – the most romantic destination in Vietnam. Honestly, before visiting Hoi An, I thought the place is over hyped. And too touristy. And never had I been so wrong. As we arrived in Hoi An, and explored around the old city quarters. The charm of Hoi An grew on me. From rustic French Quarters to narrow interwinding streets. And from the romantic cafes to the instagram worthy boats – everything seemed right out of a picture book.

By the time we reached the banks of the famous Thu Bon river in Hoi An, it was dark. But it was not dark at all!! As the whole area on both sides of the river was litup with countless colorful lanterns. And so were the boats on the river, ready to take the visitors for the most romantic ride of their lifetime.
Across the Japanese Bridge in Hoi An
As we walked towards the famous Japanese Bridge across the Thu Bon river, we crossed through the Hoi An night market. Wherein tiny stalls loaded with numerous souvenirs and handmade items welcomed tourists. After doing a little bit of souvenir shopping, we crossed the bridge. And arrived at the other side of the town. Wherein we had lunch at one of the most famous vegetarian restaurants of Hoi An. The restaurant has an open air sitting on the first floor overlooking the whole lit-up street underneath and all across the river.

It seemed that there was happiness and celebration all over. While we had our dinner peacefully, enjoying the atmosphere, I felt I will never be able to have enough of this Hoi An charm. And silently placed it as one more place to revisit on my wishlist ! We returned from Hoi An by 11:00pm at night.
PS: Hoi An and Da Nang are located very close to each other. Like twin cities. So, you can easily take a grab taxi from one to another.
#Day 2: Full day trip to BaNa Hills from Da Nang
On the second day of our 4 days Da Nang Trip Itinerary, we spent the whole day doing a day trip to Ba Na Hills and the Golden Hand Bridge from Da Nang. BaNa Hills is one of the most beautiful and sought after destinations in Vietnam. And it lived upto it’s expectations. These were the highlights of our own trip to Ba Na Hills –
-
The cable car ride all the way to the hill top from the base. Which is nothing short of a fairy tale ride up the tropical forests. You even go riding right up a waterfall on the way up.

-
Beautiful French – architecture style buildings at the top that host numerous food outlets, souvenir shops and some adventure rides to the kids. The walk through these cobbled streets reminded me of my trip to Europe years back wherein we witnessed similar scenery while wandering through the streets of Paris in France and spending few days in Switzerland.

-
It was a mystic and cloudy day when we visited BaNa Hills. And we couldn’t have been more lucky. It was cold, cloudy and beautiful. In fact, the clouds rushed right through us.

-
The walk through the Golden Hand Bridge.

PS: we booked this package for skip the line tickets to BaNa Hills along with pickup and drop just a day before.
#Day 3: Full day trip to Hue from Da Nang
On the third day of our 4 days Da Nang trip itinerary, we visited Hue from Da Nang. While many visitors escape Hue from their itinerary due to lack of time, we were lucky to include it in ours. And what a beautiful day it turned out to be. While Hue itself is a historical town located in the plains. But on the road trip from Da Nang to Hue you will pass through some of the highest mountain passes of Vietnam. And witness some of the most beautiful sceneries on the way.

Our first stop was a view point from where we had stunning views of a lake. Later, we drove right past the lake. And also stopped for a few minutes for quick refreshment on a cafe besides the lake.
Later, we arrived at the Hai Van Pass which is one of the highest passes in Vietnam. And from here, you get a 360 degree view of the surroundings with the white sand coasts, the sea extending till eternity from here, the mountains on the other side and the winding roads through them. This place also has a war memorial built on the top which you can visit.

Exploring Hue
Upon arrival in Hue we visited some of the iconic landmarks of the historical town of Hue like the Hue Imperial City, the Thien Mu Pagoda and the tomb of the Hue emperors. While we explored these historical sites, I couldn’t help but admire the beautiful of the famous Perfume river that passes right through the heart of the town. This river must have been the lifeline of the old empire of Hue. As most of the historical sites are located around this river. From near the Thien Mu Pagoda, you can do a boat ride on the Perfume river.

PS: We booked this private day trip from Da Nang to Hue
#Day 4: Exploring Da Nang and onwards flight to Hanoi
Finally on the fourth day of our 4 days Da Nang trip itinerary, we explored Da Nang. Most of our time today we spent on the My Khe Beach. The beach has one of the softest sands and clear shallow waters which are perfect for swimming. The beachside is dotted with day beds available at a nominal cost for the day. Along with changing rooms and shower areas. Which makes visiting the beach a breeze.

Across the road from the beach, you will find the high end hotels and cute cafes dotting the whole coastline.
